The Bisexual Research Group was founded in 2020 by Dr. Julia Shaw, who is a psychological scientist at University College London, the author of multiple best-selling books, and a BBC science communicator. She is best known for her work in the areas of false memory, bisexuality, and criminal psychology. Her third book, Bi: The hidden culture, history, and science of bisexuality, was published in the summer of 2022. The book is an eye-opening, rigorous, and personal exploration of sexuality.

Aurelio Castro (he/him)
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Bi+ activist and a Ph.D. in Social Sciences researching bi+ sexualities, masculinities, and the social construction of sexual orientations in personal narratives.

Ellen Davenport-Plesance (she/her)
DIRECTOR
Ellen is a research fellow researching fertility preservation and gamete donation. She has a PhD in Psychology from UCL, and an MPhil in Psychology from the University of Cambridge, during which she focused on researching bisexual+ motherhood.

Gabryelle Iaconetti (she/they)
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Ph.D student and oral historian researching histories of bisexual+ community building, activism and place-making in late twentieth century Ontario, Canada.

Noam Mizrahi (she/they)
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Noam Mizrahi is a Bisexual researcher focusing on the history of local bi+ activism, and biphobia and its adverse effect on the mental well-being of bi+ individuals. They are also very active in their local LGBTQ+ community, and see activism and research as inherently linked to one another.on goes here -
Derek Sollberger (he/him)

Lecturer of data science whose research examines survey design and applies machine learning to semantic studies of bisexuality in news and academic texts

Lucia Tralli .(she/her)
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Ph.D. and Adjunct Professor in gender and media studies researching bi+ representation in fictional media, particularly TV Series, both globally and in Italy.
